St. Louis Thistle Stemware - The thistle was the inspiration behind the design of this service, created for the Exposition de Nancy in 1908 at the height of the Art Nouveau movement. Later, Entente Cordiale oblige, Chardon ("thistle") was anglicised, becoming Thistle, and sparkled nobly on the greatest tables.
